I’ll be honest. A few years ago I used to question and even be overly critical of Kickstarter campaigns.

Isn’t it wrong to ask for people to help you make an album?

Over the years I pondered this and especially after supporting many bands over the years via Kickstarter, I realized that it’s not about charity and that it’s not a handout.

It’s about helping a band achieve their dreams and still getting some cool and unique incentive gifts in return.

With that being said, when our band, Collins Drive, decided to dream big, we knew that the only way we could achieve our dream was to turn to not only Collins Drive fans but fans of Folk, Rock & Americana music in general.

So where is your money going?

That’s a good question. You’re donations will be going towards Collins Drive’s new EP of all original material.

We are also offering some really cool and unique incentives such as a custom written song for any occasion, limited edition posters drawn by our bassist, Allison, and even a live performance in your home for you and your friends.

We will be sure to keep you informed on the progress of the recording via a special blog only available to backers. This blog will feature updates, photos, and video messages.

We really hope you will consider donating to our cause at any level that you can and we look forward to each and every one of you becoming a part of our new and very exciting journey as a band.

Risks and challenges

Once we have reached our goal, Collins Drive will then schedule our studio time and being the recording process. Obviously, we cannot do any of this until we have reached our goal and from there we will keep all backers informed on our progress via a special blog just for backers.

As always, things may happen such as issues with duplication errors and artwork but we are prepared to keep everyone posted with every detail of the project from the beginning to the shipping out of the purchased items.
